(You should really read Tauhid’s last post before this one.)As a resident of the 502, I think Louisville is on its way to becoming the new epicenter of all great indie comics.* We’ll be to 21st Century comics what New Orleans was to jazz and blues in the early 20th Century. S&W and Suburban Tribe are just the trendsetters. ST is Louis Armstrong and we are… let’s see… Fats Domino and Jelly Roll Morton. Mmmmm…. jelly rolls. Of course, we need to further populate this place with comic talent (and comics fans) in the meantime, so it’s time to move to Louisville! Pack up your things and come our way. It’s for the good of comics. Your family will understand. (* The 270 counts as an extension of the 502. Tauhid protects our borders from interlopers.)

Thanks for endulging me and my iPod aspirations. I’m working on the next S&W strip as we speak and hope to have it up tomorrow. Also if you get a chance, head over to Suburban Tribe. John’s been working really hard since he started that comic and it looks like he’s getting some major props from a local newspaper. We’re really proud of him especially cus he’s from Louisville and representing strong for the 502.Little known fact: 502 used to be the area code for Elizabethtown, where I live. About 15 years ago, for unexplained reasons, it was nabbed and moved to Louisville. They left us with a 270 area code. I think that the rational mind can only draw a parallel between this and the fact that John’s new found fame and notoriety is also rightfully mine.MINE!!!IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MEEEEEEEEEE!!! gratz John.

What your’e looking at is my submission to the World of Warcraft comic creating contest. Hopefully it will win me an iPod nano but more importantly maybe S&W will get a little exposure out of it. Considering WoW players are pretty much a prime audience for the strip this could be a really good thing. The gag is pretty topical so if you don’t play WoW or any MMORPGs then you prob’ly won’t get it. Basically when you create a character in any of these games its name has to be approved against all existing character names on that server before you can use it. On a densly populated server you can find yourself burning through all the cool names you could think of and settling for something not nearly as awesome sounding as you’d first intended. Of course if you’re handy with special character code there are ways around this…

I am working on a thing.Basically they have a monthly contest to see who can draw the crappiest World of Warcraft comic, I think. There is some pretty abysmal crap that gets sent in and I don’t envy the job of whoever it is that has to wade through that mire to find the penultimate Crap of All Crap in those sumbissions. Not that it’s the fault of the submitters. They are gamers not professional cartoonists but as such their enthusiams to create cartoons around video games apparently far outstrips that of the cartoonist… But all that is about to change. Why you ask? Because I must have that Ipod Nano. Just think of it. A device the size of a very small regular Ipod that can cary many times more songs! I can easily fit my library of 10 or 12 digital music files on this device and no longer will I be tethered to my computer, a slave to listeneing pleasure. It harkens back to the days of discmans, walkmans and even humming loudly your favorite songs while walking, man!! I will crush these poor poor unsuspecting gamers, smoting their retinas like a sourceless pillar of light that cleaves the atmosphere to burn the earth they stand upon until it turns to glass. The hair on their necks will stand on end.I’ll probly post it today or tomorrow.
